Massage Description:

Traditional Thai Massage:

The combination of energetic and physical aspects is what makes Thai Massage unique and so effective. Traditional Thai massage is really a deep, full-body treatment, starting at the feet and progressing up to the head. This style of bodywork consists of compressions and stretches to the energy lines, muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints by using the hands, thumbs, elbows and feet. It is a unique combination of gentle rocking, stretching and acupressure techniques to effectively open joints, improve flexibility and circulations. This practice relieves body tensions, including the spine, and offers similar benefits as traditional Yoga.

Deep Tissue Massage

concentrates on relieving the deep layers of muscle and fascia in the body; used to treat a variety of physical ailments

Swedish Massage :

The most common type of massage is Swedish massage therapy. It involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost layers of muscles. This is also combined with movement of the joints. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing. And it may even help after an injury.

Combination Massage

Sports Massage :

Developed to help with muscle systems used for a particular sport, sports massage uses a variety of approaches to help athletes in training before, during, or after sports events. You might use it to promote flexibility and help prevent injuries. Or, it may help muscle strains, aiding healing after a sports injury.

Lomi Lomi :

Lomi lomi (also known as "lomilomi") is a type of massage long practiced in Hawaii. Rooted in huna (a Hawaiian philosophy centered on achieving harmony in mind, body, and spirit), lomi lomi aims to promote relaxation, improve circulation, address muscle pain and other physical ailments, and provide spiritual and emotional benefits, including the relief of fear, anxiety, and other negative emotions. One of the goals of lomi lomi massage is to clear blockages in the body's natural flow of energy through the body. As in traditional Chinese medicine, energy blockages are thought to contribute to problems in physical, emotional, and mental health.

Traditional Thai Herb Ball :

As stated in the previous section, The Luk Pra Kob treatment has been approved by the largest, governing, Thai organizations to be used as an anti-inflammatory, local analgesic, muscle relaxant, and to improve range of motion and local circulation.

The effects of the heat and the healing properties of the herbs have a deep impact on the body.  As the heat penetrates the pores, the skin becomes heated, blood vessels are dilated, and blood flow is stimulated, resulting in more rapid rebuilding and nourishing of the body’s tissues. The herbs hold the heat from the steam to deeply penetrate and relax the muscles and tendons.  This aids in stretching contracted or shortened muscles to alleviate pain and tension in the body.  Deep relaxation relieves stress, improving overall health and well-being.  The healing properties of the specific herbs provide added benefits for the sinuses, skin, respiratory system, heart, circulation, and digestion.

Ingredients & Properties

The herbs in the compresses have been dried and some of them crushed into a powder form.  There are many, different recipes for compresses–the following recipe is one example of a traditional, Thai compress, which include the following dried herbs.:  Siamese yellow ginger, Lemongrass, Turmeric, Tamarind leaf, Kaffir lime peels and leaves, Camphor, Borneal Camphor, Menthol, Pandanus leaf, Acacia leaf, and Sea Salt.  These compresses can be made fresh of course, but they won’t last as long (only 2 days or so) as opposed to several weeks to a month when dried.

Body Scrub:

Relax and rejuvenate your body with a our full body scrub. This time honored exfoliation process removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin conditioned and hydrated allowing for a much softer and smoother appearance.
